Old-Time Members still around?

Postby Kuo711 on Sat Apr 13, 2024 7:46 pm

Hello all!

It’s been about fifteen years or so, I suppose, yet I still see some familiar users around still (John Wang, Dimitri, Glenn, Shawn, Graham), yet I wonder if some others like Enrique, Dan, and Josh still are? I’d love to reconnect with them, though it’s a long shot (and I don’t recall their usernames on here). This was circa 2003 - 2008?

Very glad that the forum is still around!

Chris McKinley, an old-time member, is long gone. Banned maybe? His friend, Gary Romel, doesn't seem to post anymore either.

I was previously Walk the Torque, but some how I have not been able to get back in. Admin didn't answer my query as to why, so I changed.

Still around, still practicing, still learning. ;D

I've been here more or less since 2010ish. Chris McKinley was fed up with y'all and decided to not participate anymore, for whatever reasons. IIRC.

Probably political, as this forum is overwhelmed with commie pinko faggots :D

DanTheMadman has probably been gone the longest... :(

And I bet Enrique is a Wall Street billionaire shark by now.

Too bad Tom isn't around; he'd always had disturbingly extensive dossiers on most members

Thank you to all who chimed in, and hello!

Yes, I imagine Dan is long gone, as I haven’t heard from him the longest stretch, and then Josh.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Enrique did benefit from that, or his art took off in a big way.

Maybe one day they’ll return and see this. Here’s hoping!

I don’t even think Chris McK is doing MA anymore. I didn’t even read his posts for the first 10 odd years he was here because I would typically peruse the threads backwards and since he wouldn’t use the the quote function like normal human beings do, and instead embed his reply into the same paragraph, I just thought he was the person that he was replying to since it was difficult to discern between the quote and his reply.

Enrique seemed like he wanted to get into art - often a tough path, but hope he is doing well!

Many of the people listed don't do martial arts anymore, unfortunately.

Interesting that people have given up training
It will be interesting to see which ones of those here who behave in a similar manner we will soon be saying this about

I check in periodically, but as my interests are largely meditative at this point, I mostly lurk,

I remember he started spreading a rumour I’d seen him in a bar in Bristol and run away. Such a strange dude. Never met him!

I was thinking the same. On here I’m still a “young timer” since 2016 but have been “put on a leave” a couple of times, maybe that’s what happened to some of the old timers?
Dan Harden was mentioned, I think he was banned too ? He had some interesting views on things that encouraged opinions rather than backpatting
