Mei Huizhi was a leading pioneer in the establishment of Sanda as an official combat discipline and sport in China. Like many of these pioneers, he comes from a traditional Kung-Fu background. He was the head coach of the Beijing Sanda Team.

Just finished watching ep2, really nice documentary, thanks for translating and sharing Byron! Never knew that Mei had a v strong foundation in Cheng bagua and shuai jiao before he created the Beijing Sanda team.

Heard that Chen Xiaowang challenged Mei back in the 80s and got knocked on his ass a couple of times - is that true?
