Fair enough B. It's cool, Gracie should have been expected that. I can't imagine how much power was in that wild swing though and he probably hadn't either. All those sledgehammer swings paid off.

It's unfortunate when a fighter hits a losing streak now it's three in a row. It shows how important the mental game really is.

To go back to the OP, if you look carefully and freeze the video at 1.03 (by my count, anyway), you can see that it was more than just a wild swing – Pudzianowski has taken Gracie's left hand out with his own left hand, controlling it for the fraction of a second he needed to land his blow. Good example of CMA style bridging.

+1 that,s not a wild swing, it's a move common across most RMA styles, difficult to see coming when done correctly

It was pretty cool, wasn't it! Much more to get excited about here than that Pudzianowski fight.

Here's a breakdown of that backfist that won it:

The trick is not to get hit. When Pudz fought Tim Silvia, he got hit and didn't survive. If he hits the other guy, he will hurt them.

Crivens, so he did, the crafty devil! You've got a good eye.

Has Pudz been training long fist?

Watching the interview & line up of the two guys and then watching this makes it feel even worse. I get the impression both guys are pretty professional. Did not see the ego flying stuff that makes ufc at times look like wwe.

Would have been nice to see rolles recover from a a devastating hit but he got caught.
