Just been alerted to the existence of MMA fighter Masakazu Imanari:

This guy's leglocks are just unreal, incredibly unorthodox style - he's obviously willing to fake a kick and fall if it gets him in a better position for the leglock. Anybody here know what his bacground is/who he trained with?

This Masakazu highlights clip is one of my favourites. He has great moves & reminds me of a dog boxer I had met decades ago. His record is so-so with 1/3 losses but he is an entertaining fighter.

Watch the full fights. It's paints a different picture to the highlights clip.

Plus his interviews are ... well just watch them.

I admire him for having spent so much time and effort on perfecting a particular skill set. At the same time, though, I also wonder just how practical it is outside of a ring or off the mat?

Dude, when are you going to start grappling?

Although I can't really recommend any of the bjj schools in Shanghai :/
