You are talking financial enrichment. And in this case - sure, I agree with you.

But when it comes to martial enrichment, it is better to share with a wider group of friends, and create a training group, training groups, or even an association.

That way:
With additional financial resources, your master can afford to visit you in your home country to teach;
You can ensure that he has financial incentive to continue his practice and teaching; and
You have a group of people to practice with when he is not with you.

In this day and age, when CMA are a hobby, not a military technology, I don't get this obsession with secrecy and keeping stuff to oneself.

Taijikid:

Another really nice clip, thanks for sharing. Good fighting apps and good gongfu training (the duck walks and wall stances): That's what we are here for! (And a nice change from solo forms and silly demos.)

Taijikid and DGlenn:

Do we know what art this is? Looks like Tongbei or Xinyi, but you probably have better eyes than mine.

Shawn Segler,

The real point is: do you really care about what some guy on the internet says about some people who he's never met and then compares them to another person, whom he's never met, and all stemming out of a 4 year old thread, (that I don't think he even read because his own teacher is mentioned in the thread).

You just need to HTFU, sit back, and relax.

And none of it really matters anyway because we all know that CMK is the best internal, external, fighter, combat specialist in the known and parallel universes and could defeat anyone of these other martial artists with one hand tied behind his back. He is THE ONE.

This is from a documentary tv show and this whole 5th episode is about teacher Shi Jianyi and the martial art - "Zhang Bojing's Duan Da" (short strikes) aka "Mian" Zhang [Bojing's] Boxing Style, a style that goes back at least to the time of General Qi Jiguang and is mentioned in the General's book published in 1562 a.d.

Actually, there are quite a few "Mian" Zhang Styles in China now from different local, all claimed to be the "King of the Hill" kind of "Mian" Zhang mentioned in General Qi Jiguang's publication in 1562 [No one has seen it, even Qi Jiguang}. This one in the clips, also claimed to be the "one" and was passed down as a family secret style in the Shi family through the generations. I only enjoy the skills and have tremendous respect of the master's generous share of their experiences, and don't really care about the origin!

This should all be taken with a grain of salt though because it is a big deal to make this sort of claim of intact line going back 400-500 years. And they have studied Xingyi, Baguazhang, etc, and Xingyiquan and other arts do have lineages that go back a long way and their material and the teachings kept intact. Maybe it's all Duan Da; or just some fragments of Duan Da combined with material from Xingyi; there's no way to really know.

The real question to ask yourself (especially WD) is why do you think this guy is so good? Is it because it's something you've never seen before. If so, then that's not good and if that is the case then you should maybe go study with this guy, but then how do you know he hasn't already shown you everything that he knows, blown his whole wad, so to speak, in these demonstrations on these videos, which if that's the case then that's not good either.

Always be weary. And this isn't really anything that should be profound if you already practice Xingyiquan or Baguazhang.

When I look at any clips I study ,as we all do, from a perspective of what we have learned. When I see the level of comfort with which he uses his entire body in each movement, the total displacement of his opponents center, even in demo mode, and the replacement with his own, you can see the whole of his body is there. So from those observations, I realize with full force there is obviously going to be great explosive power, yet he does all of this gently still making the power recognizable. This is what is see at first glance, now everybody says you cannot see the subtlety on a clip, but as I've said you see at the level you know, YouTube offers a plethora of training film for those who look with objective, discerning and inquisitive eyes. When I mention what I see I am always hoping someone can show me more, instead I get those who even refuse to look. Why ? I think it was explored in the past, on a secrets thread, to offer what you know, you risk exposing what you don't know, but that's the nature of our study, to continue to learn.
When I mention what I see in this guy, it is only the tip of the ice berg, there is quite a bit more.

There's a lot of writings here and there and I was almost going to say not a single clip but there is this one where you can get a glimpse of the warrior just at the end:

Ahhh!

It's why I laugh out loud at, " The Best Internal Guys Alive Today ", thread, not one on that multi page list even scratch the surface of what this CMK guy offers. And what this guy offers is some very simple and basic concepts. But most importantly he offers the reality of form as function. You can look at the pictures all day long, but if you have not yet mastered movement you will never reproduce what you see here. I don't know what he says at the end of the clip, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was saying something like " it's all the same " or " it's all here you just have to study " ;D
