A bit unfair. But I liked the following two videos better than this one.

Probably. I was a little grumpy yesterday. Monday, facing the work week with so much left undone.

Nonetheless, some people do indeed greatly enjoy the sound of their own voice. ;)

If you can’t find anything of value in what he says you may need to listen more
Ito you should realise you are an old man
Some people do like the sound of their own voice
Unfortunately most of those have their own blogs to spread their mis understandings to others
As I said before I don’t like the way he moves but I do like what he says
He quotes some things he attributes to Wang that I have not heard before
I think he is someone trying to present good information to others
If you can’t see it why comment just move on
Realise if you don’t have it at your age it isn’t coming
He is young enough he looks like he trains hard and he has an inquiring mind
He is on the path
When I have the time I will work my way through his other stuff as I will with the fencing Maestro
I encourage others to also do so
Those who see no value just move on

That bag work he's doing looks bloody weird. Looks like no technique, just attack the bag in a rage.

Thank goodness nobody has ever done anything like that to tjq

Lots of different types of work can be done on a heavy bag.

How much bag work have you done that carries over to 'applications' in your 'tai chi'?[/rhetorical]

Looking and Gazing:
2:00 - covering/beating hands and arms to entry for power shot

2:20 - covering/beating hands and arms for power shot

2:32 -2:52 ranging while the bag is still, and while it's in motion

Not Looking or Gazing:
4:19 - 4:48 applying the ideas from the bag work

Bruce it's impossible to reply to you - you fill your posts with your own personal jargon that has a very specific meaning, but never explain what the meaning is. I think this is deliberate - you're dying for people to ask you what the difference between Looking and Gazing or covering and beating is so you can pontificate from on high.

Me - I don't care, you're just another legend in his own lunchtime. Not going to play your game.

Hey Wayne, I think you're being way too harsh to Ito. Why take the fun out of someone's practice like that? Enjoyment, fulfillment? Not cool bro.

Not knowing anything about Yiquan, all I can go on is the congruity he shows in solo, bag work and the sparring, while trying to appreciate the contextual nuances in each format.

Are the feet supposed to float and drop in Yiquan the way he's showing it in the solo work at 3:43 - 4:18?

Only two people here I tend to argue with is Grahame and Ito
Usually at their instigation
I am not trying to take the joy out of Itos training
I just redress what I believe to be falsehoods he propagates
As for Grahame I am never rude to him but look what he says about me above
Just because he doesn’t understand what I say
Others do it is them I am addressing
The reason they are offended is due to themselves not me
Most of you will never meet me so what does it matter what I say
I wish I had never used my own name but I thought it was the honest thing to do
I was not trying to promote myself here but offer some good information that I thought it might benifit others like it did me
Lately some of the stuff on here has been overly esoteric with little real knowledge, self serving ,leading nowhere or a repeat of AI information that may not have been correct in the first place
I am just offering an alternate view
If you don’t wish to see what I present here or wish to address my mode of speach feel free to tell me on the back channel

There you go again speculating on the operation of my mind

If I wanted to pontificate from on high, I'd just create a blog. I could even take the approach you often take in your blog to pontificating on high by surrogating the understandings of others for the lack of your own.

I prefer to let what I know stand on its own legs.

Trying but you keep calling my name.
I understand why you enjoy it. For you this is about identity and feeling important. For me it's about the benefits of the exercises themselves, completely different motivations, intentions, and values. It's not about fighting or cultural observances, so he lost me from jump because his head is in a completely different space than mine.

Kind of like yours.

But here's a proposition for you.

I've got a WHOLE CASE of vegemite, and for every day you don't brag about yourself or insult someone else, I'll put a jar in a care package for you.

I figure 24 jars should last us about a decade.

Another example of transference
That was a remark in general but not directed at you
Most times I don’t even reply to you or remark on things you post
Like your remarks on Vegemite they are irrelavent and slightly racist
Every time you ask me not to mention you ,you then go ahead and address me directly
