Yang staff forms? modern only?

So, the Yang Dao saber form has its roots known.
The Yang Jian sword form has its roots known (and the Chen Jian form is the same form) to 1920s.
The Yang Long Pole staff traces back to Yang Ban Hou and YongNian village, essentially the same as the spear form.
The spear form comes from Yang (of Song Dynasty era) Pear Blossom form.

But no history can be found of any Yang staff and stick forms that aren't 20th century creations?
If there is any, I would be interested in learning about it.

The only Yang staff forms I have seen just mix standard CMA staff techniques with no roots in Tai Chi.

I think Earle Montague created a Yang Luchan stick/staff form based on the YLC empty hand form he inherited- so that got some history

I remember the day Erle showed me his two stick forms
The first was the tai chi one which was the aikido jo form
The second was the pa kua one which was the basic Wu Shu cha chuan form
I just looked at him and said yes Erle I have seen both of those before
He got what I meant
That was the week before he went to China

Sal, the attached video shows a clip of a staff form starting @ 1:17 that I understand to be a paired Yang style Taiji staff form. It comes from B.P. Chan, through David Pancarician. I’m sorry that I don’t have the complete form on video for you to look at. It was taught as both a solo form and a paired version. The person in the white T-shirt is doing the side that corresponds to the solo form. I don’t know enough about the background of either the form or of B.P. Chan to be certain if it is Taiji or how old it is. Does it resemble anything that you have encountered?

From the way that they hold that staff, it looks like they are holding a spear (or a southern CMA staff). The northern CMA guys don't hold staff that way. Staff is 2 heads snake. All southern CMA single head staff came from spear.

This is how to hold a northern CMA staff - both tiger mouths face each other.

For somebody that claims to understand Taijiquan you are the absolute WORST at Wu Wei.

A: His body coordination is bad.
B: Why?
A: His hand only coordinates with his foot 98% and not 100%.
B: Can you put up a video to show that your hand and foot can coordinate 100%?
A: I don't share video.

We should have a rule in RSF that if you say someone's video is bad, you should put up your personal video to prove you can do better.
